Cancelling your Care Plan
Generosity and flexibility are key values for Maple, and we want you to have the ability to make choices about your website and your work. Here's how to cancel your Care Plan and/or your Monthly Retainer.
Cancelling Your Care Plan
- Create a new support ticket in HelpScout to let us know that you would like to cancel your plan. We will conclude your contract with us.
- If your website is hosted by Maple, there are a number of things you will need to move or close. Since your site is on managed hosting through us, we can switch the billing into your name when you wrap up. Areas to handle:
- Your Website Files
- Your Software Licenses
- Access to Maple Video Library and Support
- Your Website Files
You can download your website files as a complete archive, or connect via SFTP to migrate your website to a new host. Open a support ticket and we'll provide access to your hosting account and any credentials you need.
NOTE: We can also transfer the hosting account from Maple's name to your own. Your website doesn't need to move — you'd assume the hosting expense directly and remove Maple as a collaborator. Email support@buildwithmaple.com for current pricing on this option.
- Your Software Licenses
Your Care Plan includes licenses for the themes and pro plugins your site uses. When you cancel, those licenses come with us. To keep using the same software on your site after cancellation, you'll need to purchase your own licenses and update the license keys on your site.
Email support@buildwithmaple.com before you cancel and we'll send you the current list of licensed software running on your site, with links so you can purchase your own.
- Access to Maple Video Library
Migrating your Care Plan will remove the video updates from your website as well. You'll still be able to reach out to us anytime with questions since we always enjoy supporting your work and receiving encouragement to continue creating content!
- Check Your Contract
This is a help document, not a contract, so you'll need to look at your hosting agreement with us for details about the migration. In any situation where you no longer are a client of Maple Creative, we cease to be responsible for the operating, functioning, saving, and backup of your website. The contract will end when the billing cycle ends.
Cancelling Your Monthly Retainer
- Create a new support ticket in HelpScout to let us know that you would like to cancel your retainer. We will conclude your contract with us at the end of the billing cycle.
- If there is outstanding retainer work to be completed, we will conclude any final work for which you have paid hours remaining.
Working with Maple in the Future
Even if you've cancelled your plan, we'd love to continue working with you! Please let us know if you have future work for which you need support or if you'd like to sign up for a Care Plan or Retainer again in the future.
