How to use analytics without violating privacy (Fathom Analytics)

With an analytics tool, you'll be able to know how many people are visiting your website, what device they're using, what region they're from, and what pages they viewed.

But choosing the wrong analytics tool can get you in trouble (legally, and logistically).

The most popular is Google Analytics, but you end up violating your reader's privacy at such a massive scale you need to force your readers to agree to a really long privacy policy they probably won't read. The whole thing just feels icky.

I use Fathom Analytics, a privacy focused analytics tool. It doesn't overwhelm with information either – it gives you a dashboard of useful information you can use to improve your website. You can even set goals (another subject).

Fathom is now available FREE for all clients with a Maple care plan.
